What does the inspection cover?
These inspections, conducted by qualified mechanics or automotive experts, typically include a comprehensive evaluation of the vehicle’s mechanical, electrical, and structural components. The inspector often checks the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and other vital systems, as well as the exterior and interior condition of the car including a OBDII computer scan for trouble codes and resets. Then a test drive checking for abnormalities and sounds, running through the gears, brake response, steering, suspension.
Do you inspect vehicles at dealerships?
YES!, 75% of our pre-purchase inspections are done at dealerships of all sizes, Dealers are more than happy to accommodate onsite inspection requests rather than making an appointment at a shop and waiting for days to close a deal, Only a sketchy dealer would deny an inspection and that would be a big red flag!
Do I need to be present for the inspection?
NO, In fact we strongly prefer to perform our inspections solo. This allows us to maintain 100% focus on the vehicle, take our time, and generate a detailed report for you to review before you arrive to negotiate. The inspection takes about 30 minutes and another 30 minutes to generate the report.
Will I receive a report after the inspection?
Yes, Usually within 1 hour a link to the report will be sent via text and email, by providing a detailed report on the car’s current state, including any existing or potential issues, and help buyers make informed decisions. The “secret sauce” really comes down to high-signal, zero-fluff reporting. What is the difference between a mobile Inspection and dealership inspection?
A mobile inspector provides the convenience of coming to the vehicle’s location (e.g., a seller’s home or dealership lot) and works for you, the buyer. A dealership inspection may have a conflict of interest, as they are often inspecting a car they want to sell you. Our independent service ensures an unbiased report.
Why do repair shops and dealerships charge way more for vehicle inspections?
The answer is simple, they are in the business of selling repairs so they will always be able to find something that can be fixed, not to mention high overhead expenses. Dealerships and repair shops need to charge hundreds of dollars for the same service to “keep the lights on”, in addition repair shops typically require you to schedule an appointment and take the vehicle to their location. Fast Auto Check comes to you as a certified independent inspector with an unbiased goal.
What We Don’t Do:
We do not sell repairs. This ensures our reporting remains completely unbiased. Unlike a repair shop, we have no financial incentive to find “fake” problems; our only goal is to bridge the gap between seller claims and mechanical reality. We do not inspect Motorcycles, ATVs, Boats, or RVs. We do not remove covers, skid plates, splash guards, the inspection is non-invasive visual. We do not lift vehicles.
